At Dastaan e Rumaan, we believe innovation and sustainability go hand in hand. We're proud to collaborate with WWF-Pakistan and EBM English Biscuit Manufacturers (Pvt.) Ltd. (EBM) on the Multi-Layered Plastics Upcycling MLP Training Programme, aimed at tackling the challenge of plastic waste. This groundbreaking initiative, launched in BaldiaTown, Karachi, and FarashTown, Islamabad, in the presence of Nazifa Ishaq, Director Sustainability and Environments WWF, provides over 50 underprivileged women with training in traditional handloom techniques. Through this, they learn to transform discarded multi-layered plastics (MLP) into eco Friendly sheets, which are then crafted into sustainable products like #handbags, tote bags, laptop sleeves, and more.Together, we’re not just addressing environmental issues but also creating alternative income opportunities for communities in need. With the success of this pilot project, we aim to inspire a wave of sustainable livelihoods across the country. Our vision is to weave a greener, more sustainable future while empowering lives.
